My Top Strava 2024

12/31/2024

2024 took me on many new adventures. This year I selected 23 activities, which included another Oregon Scenic Bikeway and three more bucket list mountain bike rides. This year I did activities in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Massachusetts, and British Columbia to round out my geographic spread.

We started 2024 off on a sunny but chilly day on the Springwater Corridor.

Took a late January trip to the coast, things got windy but we were not deterred.

Took a sunny winter day up to Dog Mountain. I need to revisit in the spring for the wild flowers.

Did my first ever XC Mountain Bike race, I was definety in pain afterwards. Was still an awesome experience, but uncertain if I will do more races.

Spent Easter weekend in Bellingham, first time biking this famous MTB destination.

Started off my SW Utah workcation riding in Zion.

The Whole Guacamole might have been my favorite mesa top ride in SW Utah.

Wire Mesa was not the most technical but high on fun.

This was a bucket list ride near Bryce Canyon National Park. I camped just outside the National Park and did a hike the next day.

First time to Lake Tahoe. The bikeways around the lake are top notch.

Checked off another Oregon Scenic Bikeway while camping with friends over Memorial Day weekend.

Austin joined for my longest point-to-point kayak trip to date. Did not drop the new phone in the river.

Did a solo trip to Oakridge and did 5 shuttle rides in one epic but exhausting day. Alpine was the first and this trail did not disappoint.

Shuttle ride from the top of falls creek with Lily and G.

This was definety the most epic and memorable activity of the year. We hiked till dark and we were exhausted. Can't wait to visit the Enchantments again.

First big bikepacking trip was to Vancouver Island. I think the group was hooked and we loved taking the international ferry ride.

Lily joined for our first time doing the Huffman Peak loop after it has been reopened post fire. Big climbs and bid descents.

Jamie and I attempted the Lewis River point-to-point earlier in the year and our plans got thwarted. This time Austin joined and we were able to make the full float.

Did a two day camping trip in Gifford Pinchot to check off this epic ride. This one has been on my radar for a few years and we finally made it. The next day we biked Goat Mountain for my second time on that trail.

Took a trip back east to see the guys in Raleigh. Got to catch up with friends, play disc golf, eat steak, play mini golf, and go to an Edgar Allen Poe thearte show.

Jamie and I attended the dedication of the new Columbia River Gorge tunnel for bike ped access only. They are working on a full bike/ped path through the entire gorge.

Thanksgiving took us to Boston to visit my cousin and got the Cline family together. We did a day on the Freedom Trail taking in the history.

Jamie and I took the ferry out to San Juan Island for a misty winter off season weekend.
