My Top Strava 2023

1/8/2024

Strava has become my social media of choice and the way I track all the fun adventures we do. Sometimes I look back on a year and forget all the stuff we did. This year, I made a list of my top 22 activities to help me remember all the cool places and things that were done. I turned 40 in 2023 and I was able to check off a few bucket list activities I have been wanting to do.

I hope to ride all the Oregon Scenic Bikeways, so early in 2023 I got to work.

In March we visited my friend Ken in Grenada, my second time to the island.

I wanted to Kayak down the big river. Longest kayak trip to date.

Two days after the kayak trip, I biked up the Klickitat River while Jamie ran. Took me much longer than expected.

For my 40th birthday, I joined a work trip to Yellowstone with Jamie. I did a hike while she was at meetings.

Met up with Hamilton on his 40th birthday trip in Bend. I wanted to get him a classic bike ride in one morning.

Lily and I wanted to bike to the top of Silver Star, but the snow stopped us. Epic views anyway.

On the way home from Mt Shasta, Jamie shuttled me to the top of Mt Ashland.

Fourth of July camping trip at Newberry Crater with Jamie. All our gear was covered in pollen after the weekend.

Swamp Wells was on my mind for sometime, I knocked this out alone, definetly felt remote.

Alaska Marine Highway took us to Juneau with Tay-Tay and Steph.

Steep trail in Juneau, we about mailed in the hike but ended up doing the biggest one of the trip. So glad we did it.

Hiked the High Divide loop in Olympic National Park with Sara and Drew. Wonderful one night backpack trip.

Jamie was running the Secret Beach 50k, so I got to bike along the coast and mountains.

This ride was supposed to be with a group of 6, but a road closure forced a few to cancel. G and I had a long day, but was an epic to remember.

After being smoked out the last two years, G and I joined a few thousand people at Crater Lake. Amazing day, camped out the night before.

On the way home from Crater Lake, camped out again to get another Oregon Scenic Bikeway done.

Big distance rides continue, 44 Trails has become a favorite spot for the group.

Last summer hike and backpack camping with Jenna and Austin.

Chad, G,and I finished this epic in the dark, easily the most memorable ride of the year.

G's 44th birthday kept the big milage going for the longest MTB ride of the year (distance).

Another long point to point MTB trip with G to take in the fall.
